The Town Hall of Penha, through the Office of Social Assistance for the Social Promotion Sector, with the support of the Picucho Santos Cultural Fund and the Tourism Office, presents the second edition of the «About Mar de Criatividades» exhibition on November 2, 3 and 4. , in the Church of São João Batista, in the Armação neighborhood. The initiative aims to develop the craft and handicraft sector in the city, promote the solidarity economy, bring tourists and residents together for the weekend.
During these three days, the event starts at 9 am and ends at 8 pm. The Director of Social Services, Sérgio Mello, explains that an active search for teams was carried out and all exhibitors’ vacancies were filled quickly.
«We got a quick response which made us very happy. The intention is to promote a solidarity economy, valuing local crafts and the culture of our city. We also have many students from the Zilda Lucki Silveira Professional School, who take courses in cutting and sewing, fabric painting, creative sewing, doll making and knitting and crocheting,” he points out.
Sérgio also explains the plans to hold the event this weekend. «The idea is precisely to attract tourists who will be in the city, so they can get to know the products of our country, our culture,» he concludes.
